Our Charity

In 2015, we've decided to conduct cookathon and support Akshaya Patra Foundation - a not-for-profit organisation headquartered in Bangalore, India.
The organisation strives to fight issues like hunger and malnutrition in India. By implementing the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in the Government schools and Government aided schools, Akshaya Patra aims not only to fight hunger but also to bring children to school.
Since 2000, the organisation has worked towards reaching more children with wholesome food on every single school day. In partnership with the Government of India and various State Governments, and inestimable support from many businesses, philanthropic donors and well-wishers; the organization has grown from its humble beginnings in the year 2000, serving just 1500 children across 5 schools.
Today Akshaya Patra is the world’s largest (not-for-profit run) mid-day meal programme serving wholesome food to over 1.4 million children from 10,661 schools across 10 states in India.
It takes just Rs. 750 for Akshaya Patra to feed a child for an entire year! Thats around two meals we have in Singapore.

We are not officially affiliated to Akshaya Patra. Instead of creating a charitable organization, we decided to do some due diligence on the organizations that are doing genuine work and support them from outside.  We loved the work Akshaya Patra is doing and wanted to support in which ever way we could.
